Jim White passed away peacefully at age 79 from cardiac arrest while doing one of the things he loved most—walking in the woods. This time, he was especially happy to be sharing the trail with his son in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Jim dedicated much of his life to public service. He served as a Forest Ranger for the State of New York for 32 years, retiring as Captain. He then became head of the Bolton Landing Police Department for five years, followed by two summers with the Warren County Sheriff’s Lake George boat patrol.
His commitment to helping others extended far beyond his paid roles. Jim was a devoted member of the Bolton Fire Company for 45 years and served as Chief for several of those years.

He is deeply missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Melitta, of Kremmling, Colorado; his son Scott and daughter-in-law Jennifer of Kennesaw, Georgia; his granddaughters Jenna (and husband Matt White) and Lauren (and husband Patrick Janda), also of Kennesaw; and his daughter Deb (White) Lindblom and son-in-law Sander Lindblom of Granby, Colorado.

Celebrations of Jim’s life will be held at a later date in both Bolton Landing, New York, and Kremmling, Colorado, so friends and family can gather to remember him.
