Obituary: Mollie Staley Palmer
June 4, 2017 – April 13, 2025
With deepest sorrow and aching hearts, we share the passing of our beloved daughter, Mollie Staley Palmer, who left this world on April 13, 2025, at the age of 7.
Born on June 4, 2017, Mollie was a radiant light in the lives of all who knew her. Her laughter filled rooms, her kindness knew no bounds, and her passion for life was nothing short of inspiring. In her short time on earth, she lived more fully and loved more deeply than many do in a lifetime.
Mollie found joy in movement and creativity; she loved skiing down fresh powdery slopes, mountain biking through trails, and flipping through the air in gymnastics. She had a true artist’s heart, often lost in drawing, painting, and exploring her imagination through art and reading. She was a proud member of the Girl Scouts where her confidence and compassion flourished. She adored spending time with her friends whose laughter and companionship meant the world to her.
Above all, Mollie cherished her role as a big sister, a responsibility she embraced with much love and pride. Everyone who knew Mollie and Maggie always commented on how special their relationship was. She had a special bond with animals; especially her beloved dog Luna, every cat she ever met, and her passion for Horseback Riding was just getting started. Her gentle spirit and deep empathy made her a friend to all living things.
Mollie is forever loved and missed by her parents, Amy Staley, William “Bill” Palmer, her sister Maggie (5), grandparents, extended family, and a wide circle of friends and community members who were blessed to know her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 6, 2025, at the Headwaters Center in Winter Park. All are welcome to come and honor Mollie’s vibrant spirit and the love she shared so freely. Mollie’s family wishes to express their deepest and most heartfelt gratitude for the incredible support they have received during this profoundly difficult time. The outpouring of love from those nearby and from family and friends afar has been both comforting and truly beautiful.
Though our hearts are shattered, we carry Mollie’s light with us always. Her laughter echoes in our memories, and her love surrounds us still. We will remember her with tears, with smiles, and above all with endless love.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider helping to carry on Mollie’s joyful spirit by supporting Mollie’s Favorite Things, an effort to help other children enjoy some of the activities, experiences, and simple pleasures she loved most. Special T-shirts, inspired by one of Mollie’s personal favorite shirts, are available for purchase, with all proceeds going toward this tribute. https://www.bonfire.com/in-memory-of-mighty-mollie-palmer-1/
