Updated with correction: It was confirmed with Sky-Hi News on Friday, Dec. 7 that Pearl Dragon has not made a decision to cancel its plan of moving into the Los Amigos building downtown. Instead, the restaurant has encountered issues beyond their control that have delayed their timeline. The restaurant will continue its day-to-day operations at its current location.

____

GRANBY — After initially announcing plans to move to a new location downtown, Granby’s Pearl Dragon Chinese food restaurant will be staying put for the time being.

In late July, Grand County-based Mexican food restaurant Los Amigos halted operations at their Granby installation, at 181 East Agate Ave., next to Liberty Savings Bank. The restaurant had operated for several years from that location, but the Dominguez family, which owns Los Amigos, decided to shut down operations in Granby and focus their efforts on their Kremmling location.

At the time, Pearl Dragon owners confirmed plans to move into the building previously occupied by Los Amigos.

Lin Long, who operates Pearl Dragon along with other family members, said the restaurant planned to move sometime around Thanksgiving. However, those plans have been delayed with the new location downtown, as she cited unspecific issues with the new building.

As of Dec. 7, Pearl Dragon was open for business at its current location.
