The sky to the west was smoky over Byers Peak Wilderness on the morning of Aug. 13. The Lee and Elk fires from Rio Blanco and Moffat counties continue to waft smoke and ash throughout the state. At over 110,000 acres, the Lee fire is now the 5th largest in Colorado state history.
