Playground transformation underway at Hideaway Park

Demolition at Hideaway Park began on Oct. 27, marking the start of a major playground transformation in downtown Winter Park. Crews expect the demolition phase to take about two weeks, after which parts of the site will remain closed through the winter months, according to the town’s website.
Construction of the new playground will begin in spring 2026, led by Fisk Lawnscapes. The project includes installation of a new play structure, updated landscaping, fencing, and safety surfacing. Work is expected to continue through early summer, with completion anticipated by the end of June 2026.
During construction, certain areas around the playground will remain closed to ensure public safety. Once complete, the upgraded play area will provide an enhanced and modernized outdoor space for families and visitors to enjoy, the town says.
