A collision near Williams Fork Reservoir sent two Parshall residents to the hospital on the morning of Wednesday, Oct. 8. The accident occurred around 7:46 a.m. near the intersection of County Road 33 and County Road 330, Colorado State Patrol spokesperson Gabriel Moltrer said.

A Ford Focus was being driven eastbound on County Road 33 by a 54-year-old male from Parshall with a 50-year-old female passenger from Parshall. At the uncontrolled three-way intersection of the two roads, the Ford attempted to bear left onto County Road 330.

The driver failed to yield the right of way to a self-contained Peterbilt 348 water tanker traveling westbound on County Road 33, according to State Patrol. The left front of the Ford struck the left rear of the Peterbilt. The Ford rotated counter-clockwise coming to a rest in County Road 33 facing west. The Peterbilt came to rest on the westbound side of the road.

The driver of the Ford was transported to the hospital by helicopter with serious injuries. The passenger of the Ford was transported to the hospital by EMS with moderate injuries. The driver of the Peterbilt, a 63-year-old male from Kremmling, was not injured. All those involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
