According to the National Weather Service of Denver/Boulder, snow is expected to increase across the Northern mountains Sunday night and become heavy at times after midnight. A Winter Weather Advisory is in place from midnight Sunday to 6 p.m. on Monday.

“The snow combined with windy conditions will lead to areas of blowing snow and difficult travel,” the weather service wrote on their Facebook page. “Blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.”

According to the weather service, Rocky Mountain National Park and the Medicine Bow Range,  the mountains of Summit County, the Mosquito Range, and the Indian Peaks could receive 3-8 inches, with winds gusts as high as 70 mph. At Winter Park Resort, new snow accumulation of 2-4 inches is possible on Monday.

Roadways will be impacted, especially early Monday morning, and drivers should exercise caution. For the latest road report, call 511 or visit the Colorado Department of Transportation’s CoTrip.org to stay updated.
