We are so fortunate to have an active historical association dedicated to preserving the history, artifacts and heritage buildings of Grand County.

Who benefits? Everyone who resides, visits or passes through our county can access our rich legacy thanks to Grand County Historical Association, which maintains four museums and actively educates through in-person events, publications, field trips and online presence.

Just yesterday staff member, Samantha Davis, presented a terrific program on the Indigenous Peoples of Grand County at Pioneer Village Museum in Hot Sulphur Springs. All of us left far better informed about the peoples who were here long before trappers, traders and pioneers.

If you haven’t explored the association’s museums and offerings, you are missing out. You can stay current by visiting GrandCountyHistory.org and subscribing to receive email updates.

Another opportunity to learn about the association is looming large. Plan to attend the upcoming annual meeting at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, at Cozens Ranch Museum in Fraser. Meet staff and board members and hear about ongoing and planned efforts to secure our rich history.
