Eli Pace is a Colorado native with more than 15 years professional journalism experience. He grew up on Colorado’s eastern plains, graduating high school in Fort Morgan before earning his journalism degree at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. After graduation, Eli landed in the South, where he would spend the next decade climbing the ranks at newspapers in Tennessee and Kentucky before deciding to come home and continue his career in the state where he cut his teeth. Over the course of 15 years in the journalism industry, Eli has worked almost every position a newspaper has to offer, including sports, features and news, first as an agate clerk and later as a reporter, copy editor, night editor, section editor and managing editor. As the managing editor for the Kentucky New Era, a small daily newspaper in western Kentucky, for almost five years, Eli led a staff that consistently finished in the state’s top three in the coveted general excellence category. He also won best feature writing in 2015 and a host of other individual honors for his writing, page design and photography.
