Colorado Department of Transportation crews will be carrying out winter mitigation work this week on U.S. Highway 40 over Berthoud Pass, which will require temporary traffic holds in both directions.

Work will start at about 6 p.m. each night beginning Tuesday, April 1, until Friday, April 4.

Temporarily holds will take place each night to ensure the safety of crew members and the public during avalanche mitigation and snow removal work, according to Austyn Dineen, the I-70 corridor communications manager.

Dineen said holds are expected to be brief, but that “they are conditions dependent, so they could vary.”
