Artists will bring color and life to 8-by-8-foot primed panels scattered throughout the town of Fraser from Aug. 1-3. Anyone can watch the artists at work while they complete their mural in the downtown area at the 2025 Fraser Mountain Mural Fest.
The theme of this year’s mural fest is “Wild at Heart” and artists will be challenged to create a piece of art corresponding to the theme. The festival is presented by the Town of Fraser and the Fraser Public Arts Committee to celebrate Fraser’s vibrant art scene, build awareness of the arts committee and the Fraser Center for Creative Arts project, according to the festival’s website.
The festival also serves as an opportunity for local and national artists to compete for cash prizes. Each participating artist receives a $600 stipend to assist with expenses like lodging and supplies. A total of 30 artists are competing in this year’s festival.
Event attendees will get the chance to cast votes for their favorite murals at the festival, or even bid online for murals that they’d like to take home for themselves. The top three fan-favorite murals will win the people’s choice award. The first place prize is $3,500, second place is $2,000 and third place is $1,000.
Attendees will be able to purchase tickets throughout the weekend and cast votes for artists until 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 3. Winners of the people’s choice award will be announced on social media after voting closes.
Several awards with cash prizes are up for grabs at the festival. The grand prize, chosen by the Fraser Public Arts Committee, is the opportunity to work on a paid commission mural project for a local Fraser business for up to $10,000. The muralist, committee and business owner will work together to come up with a mural idea.
Artists will also cast their own votes for their favorite mural and the winner of the artist choice award will receive $3,500.
Artists can be seen painting on Friday, Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Once artists wrap up their work on Saturday, an awards party will be held at the Old School House Park in Fraser from 6-8 p.m. with live music by the band Dealer Takes Four.

The online mural auction will go live at noon on Saturday and close at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
The Fraser Artisan Bazaar, which features products from local artists and vendors, will take place on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. at Fraser Valley Distilling, Simple Coffee, Birdie Lounge and High County Autumn’s Nest. While individuals walk around admiring the murals, they can also stop by any of these locations to check out the bazaar’s offerings.
