For the Nov. 4, 2025 election, voter turnout in Grand County was 51.3% — with 6,531 out of 12,722 active voters casting ballots — well above the state average of 39.9%.

“I was really impressed with the voters in Grand County,” Assistant County Clerk Joanne Morse said. “They came out. For all the hard work we do we want to have people vote.”

Despite recent bumps, including breaks in the chain of custody in October of 2024, all indicators show that elections in Grand County went smoothly this year.

“We always want to thank our election judges for the work they do,” Morse said. “This is a community election and they work on behalf of the community. We have a lot of respect for their honest, integrity and hard work. They stepped up and we are really proud of them.”

This was the first year in decades that longtime election judge Patty Brown and former country clerk Sara Rosene were not part of the process. Last year, they were hired as consultants to help current County Clerk and Recorder Jolene Linke clean up some security process violations that occurred in 2024.

This year, the state provided a consultant from Broomfield County, Penny Norman, who came to Grand County to help oversee Tuesday’s election, and provide insight and advice to the team.

“She met with our judges, went through the process with them, was able to answer questions,” Morse said. “It was great to get a different perspective. We did tweak our process here and there to make them more effective and efficient.”
