Grand County Search and Rescue will host the fifth annual SAR For The Course golf tournament on Aug. 25 at the Grand Elk Golf Course in Granby. The tournament will be a four person scramble with a  9 a.m. check in and a 10 a.m. shotgun start. Proceeds will benefit Grand County Search and Rescue.

This is search and rescue’s only major fundraising event for the year, so we hope you can come out for a fun-filled day and support your team. We depend on fundraising, donations and grants to support our lifesaving measures.

The men and women volunteers who make up the Grand County Search and Rescue team are tied together by one common goal — helping people. Search and rescue is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year with a fully qualified team of trained personnel.

The organization responded to 76 incidents in 2023 involving more than 11,023 man-hours. In 2023, seven lives were saved.

Search and rescue assists skiers, snowmobilers, hikers, hunters, snowshoers, climbers, mountain bikers and lost children. The agency has been on the scene for car wrecks, bus wrecks, airplane accidents, forest fires and train derailments. When the public is in need of mountain search and rescue services, Grand County Search and Rescue is there.

You can register for the SAR For The Course tournament at BirdEase.com/SARforTheCourse.
