Injured bear seen in downtown Grand Lake

On Wednesday, July 10, the town of Grand Lake posted on Facebook about reports of an injured black bear in the downtown area.
The post urges residents to stay aware of their surroundings and to give the bear space if seen.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife Public Information Officer Rachael Gonzales said that the district wildlife manager took a call about a bear with a limp, but did not see it. The wildlife manager is continuing to keep an eye out for the bear.
No other information is available at this time.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife has many resources for information on living near black bears available online. The Hot Sulphur Springs office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can be reached at 970-725-6200.
