Siblings Birk and Svea Irving – Winter Park Competition Center alums – are ready to take their skills to the Aspen X Games at Buttermilk Ski Resort. From Jan. 26-28, the Irving siblings will compete against other skiers from around the world, including Italy, Japan, South Korea, France and more. For Birk, this will be his seventh time competing in the X Games; for Svea, it will be her third.
Both Birk and Svea are on the U.S. Pro Half Pipe Team and compete in the SuperPipe during the X Games. The two already have medals under their belt this season. The siblings competed in the Toyota U.S. Grand Prix in Copper Mountain in December. Birk earned third place and Svea earned seventh place.

On Dec. 19, Svea had an interview with anchor Mekialaya White of CBS News Colorado, where she talked about her excitement for the X Games.
“I go to CU Boulder, so I have a bunch of friends and family coming up so it’s just a really fun event,” she said.
She also talked about her family’s love of skiing – in addition to her brother’s professional career, their father, Brendan Irving, is the Ski Patrol Supervisor at Winter Park Resort.

“It’s awesome. I think I was born into a family of skiers and that’s how we spent our holidays and weekends together. I was on skis when I was three years old,” she said.
Want to watch the Irving siblings in person? You can attend the X Games for free, enjoy lots of festivities and watch the Big Air, Knuckle Huck and Slopestyle competition right from the base. To get a bird’s eye view of all the competitions – including SuperPipe – tickets are available at XGames.com, starting at $45.
