Meg was raised on a ranch in Texas, where she developed a love for wide open spaces. When she first arrived to Grand County, seeing the vast lands stretching toward the mountains, she felt like she had a found a home.

Meg began writing at a young age, pursuing that calling at Trinity University. After graduating with a BA degree in English and Communications, she moved to NYC to pursue several writing internships. Meg also worked for the hyperlocal paper, The Greenpoint Gazette, in Brooklyn. Covering everything from restaurant openings to nonprofits, she discovered the importance of journalism for close-knit communities.

After leaving NYC, Meg traveled to a village in France, where she worked for a summer at a writing retreat. She was then called to Granby’s C Lazy U Ranch in 2016, which a former co-worker told her was one of the most beautiful spots in the country. Meg continued to work seasonally at C Lazy U and in France, until she made Grand County her permanent home in 2018.

In Grand County, Meg has worked a variety of jobs, from housekeeping at resorts, to assisting residents at Mountain Family Center, to working at the former community paper, The Grand Gazette. Meg joined Sky-Hi News in January 2022. Her favorite part of the job? Writing about the diverse aspects of the county, from live music events, to government, to art – all in the same week!

Meg lives in Kremmling with her husband, where they enjoy hiking, snowboarding and exploring Colorado.
