Lance Gutersohn’s 4th of July Celebration moves to Hideaway Park

After many years of family 4th of July fun at the Fraser Valley Sports Complex, this year’s Lance Gutersohn’s 4th of July Celebration is moving to downtown Winter Park.

The event is free to the public and has become a highlight of the summer season.

“We’re very excited to bring all of our 4th of July activities into town this year,” Winter Park and Fraser Chamber of Commerce Director Catherine Ross said. “We hope that local businesses and the public-at-large benefit from this change.”

Hideaway Park, at the intersection of Highway 40 and Rendezvous Way in Winter Park, will be the site of this year’s festivities. Activities included at this year’s Celebration include inflatable play structures, face painting, and live music. Activities begin at 6 p.m. and go until the beginning of the fireworks display.

Free live music starts at 6 p.m. with opening act Front Country followed by headliners Hot Buttered Rum.

A free shuttle will be running from 4 p.m. through 11 p.m. between Cooper Creek Square and the Fraser Valley Sports Complex for anyone who wants to park and ride. A shuttle will also be running from Winter Park Resort to Cooper Creek Square from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
