Grand County Planning Director Kris Manguso is running for District 3 Grand County commissioner.

A veteran who spent six years in the United States Air Force, Manguso and husband of 22 years, Al, live in the Kremmling area. Besides her employment with Grand County, Manguso owns a small noxious weed control business that operates during the summer months.

“I am truly passionate about the future of our Grand County, which is why I advocate accountability, oversight, local government control and am a strong supporter of small business,” Manguso writes in her candidacy announcement letter.

“It is my firm belief that government exists for the sole purpose of serving the people, not the other way around. It is critical that elected government officials stand by solid principles of limited government, individual freedom and protection of private property in every decision.”

Manguso says she possesses the leadership skills necessary for the job, “combined with a unique insight into the workings of the county to bring a positive, respectful influence into our county government. With your vote, I will be honored and privileged to serve Grand County as the District 3 Commissioner.”
