A year after successfully opening an authentic taco restaurant in Grand Lake, the De Los Santos brothers launched Taco About It in Fraser, extending the beloved chain across the county.

The family-run business celebrated the Fraser location’s grand opening April 10, serving up the same classic Mexican cuisine offered at the Grand Lake location, with some creative culinary additions.

It’s not just tacos — the menu features specialty items, like the 12″ pizza birria for $24.99, the birria ramen for $14.99 and the grand dog weiner, complete with a bacon slice and fresh toppings, for $6.99.

Meat-lovers can choose from 12 different options: birria, asada, chicken, carnitas, al pastor, cueritos, stew beef, steak, marinated chicken, pulled pork, marinated pork and pork skin.

Drinks include sodas, beers and freshly made agua frescas, such as horchata and pineapple juice.

The quick-bite stop is open seven days a week starting at 8 a.m. On weekends, they stay open late, closing at 12 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. They close at 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday.

According to Chef Miguel Angel De Los Santos, who owns the restaurant with his three brothers Jose, Victor and Carlos, the idea for expanding to Fraser was to catch the eye of passersby commuting east to Denver.

The location of the food trailer, 76827 US-40, next to Winter Park Flyfisher, is a prime spot for passing vehicles coming to or from Fraser on U.S. Highway 40.

The De Los Santos brothers built out the trailer together, a process he said took about four months. Upon Taco About It’s April 10 grand opening, supporters of the Grand Lake location were lined up and ready to order their favorites at the Fraser location.

“Many people came from Grand Lake to support us,” De Los Santos said. “There were also many other people from Winter Park and Fraser.”

The De Los Santos brothers will be cooking up at the Fraser location until they open the restaurant in Grand Lake later this spring. For now, they are focused on getting things up and running smoothly at the new joint and bringing in customers from across the Fraser Valley.

Taco About It’s menu features a variety of tacos, burritos, bowls, quesadillas and even special items like birria pizza, ramen and hot dogs.
