Looking to grab a snack or dessert to-go? Or pick up an artfully decorated cake for a special occasion? Pink Cakes in Granby is the spot for all kinds of sweet offerings.

The bakery opened July 4 on Granby’s main street. Owners Karla Alfaro and Adriana Silva run Pink Cakes together. Prior to opening the brick-and-mortar shop, they made desserts for order from their homes.

When stepping into the bakery, the bright decor is welcoming, and a display case full of unique, homemade desserts entices customers. Sizes range from bite-sized cookies topped with jelly or fruit to large cakes to feed a celebratory group.

While the shop is perhaps best known for custom cakes, other items include jellies, cornbread, flan, drinks, tiramisu, conchas, Dominican pastries, fresas con crema and drinks.

In the morning, customers can also order smoothies, coffee, donuts and freshly made bread.

Alfaro and Silva can provide dessert tables for events. Custom cakes can feature any theme from superheroes for a boy’s birthday party to flowers for a wedding or quinceanera.

A custom cake with 10-12 servings is $65, a dozen cupcakes is $24, and 60 mini-cupcakes is $65.
