From Sept. 29 to Oct. 3, crews will complete the concrete barriers and work on sign installation on the Red Dirt Hill Paving project between Granby and Tabernash on U.S. Highway 40.
The final traffic switch will occur the week of October 6. When the traffic switch is in progress, motorists can expect slight traffic shifts as crews complete striping for the permanent traffic configuration.
The anticipated project completion is anticipated for late October.
Temporary construction alignments have been in place throughout the project. Traffic lanes will be shifted as paving progresses. Two-way traffic, with one lane open in each direction, will be maintained during roadway paving.
During some paving and striping operations, motorists may encounter alternating lane closures and delays up to 20 minutes, but these will be announced ahead of time on COtrip.org.
Motorists should leave additional time when driving through the work zone due to the reduced speed limit. Speed limit is reduced to 45 mph through the work zone. If flaggers are present in the work zone, the speed limit may be reduced to 40 mph.
Work will occur during daytime hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
