Back by popular demand, Meghan Casey and her Rocky Mountain Puppets will perform at all five Grand County Library District locations for the week of July 24. In line with this year’s summer reading theme, Casey’s puppet show is called “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.”
About the show in Casey’s words
“Meghan and her pals have been friends for over a decade! Planning a friendship celebration sounded like a great idea….until it came to picking out a theme for the party. Aidan and Arnold want to reminisce in the pre-historic era with everything being covered in dinosaurs, Shooster wants everything to be in the shape of a fire hydrant (yes, even the cake), Cassie wants to see the color pink everywhere she looks, Crush has plans to build an ocean using a pop-up swimming pool, and Phil wants a carnival theme with nothing but hamster wheels as the rides.”
“A massive argument erupt(s) in the group, creating a divide and causing everyone to spiral out of control. The tension of this argument has made everyone realize that the value of friendship is more important than any party theme. While working together to mend the broken bond, Meghan, Aidan, Crush, Shooster, Cassie, Arnold and Phil all learn that the true meaning of friendship is sticking with each other through thick and thin, no matter what.”
