Voluntary closure in place at local day care
Editor’s note: This story has been updated with information from the Colorado Department of Early Childhood.
Little Sprouts in Granby called parents and caretakers Wednesday morning to inform them that the day care was closing voluntarily. It is unclear why the day care is instituting a voluntary closure or when they will reopen.
Sky-Hi News was at the location at approximately 11 a.m. and saw people picking up their children. Staff would only say this was a voluntary closure and did not provide further details.
According to parents who spoke with our reporters, they were not given the reason for the voluntary closure, either. Some parents were informed less than an hour after dropping off their children.
It is unclear if the closure is due to a recent inspection or other factors such as staffing or illness.
On Thursday a representative with Colorado Department of Early Childhood confirmed that there were no issues with the day care’s license or funding
Sky-Hi News will update this story as details are released.
