West Grand School District calls for nominations to board of education

Petitions to be a candidate in the elections for the West Grand School District Board of Education Directors are due by Aug. 29.

The board of education is calling on nominations for five director seats, who will be elected at large by voters who live in Grand, Eagle or Summit counties. Four of the director seats will be for a four-year term (2025-2029) and one of the director seats will be for a two-year term that runs from 2025 to 2027.

The candidates for school directors to be placed on the ballot for the regular biennial school election to be held on Nov. 4, 2025.



Interested persons should file a a written notice of intention to be a candidate and a nomination petition signed by at least 25 eligible electors, who are registered to vote in the regular school election. Nomination petitions are available at West Grand School District office, which is open Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m.to 4 p.m.

To be qualified, a candidate must have been a registered elector of the school district for at least 12 consecutive months before the election. Candidates can live in Grand, Eagle or Summit. A person is ineligible to run for school director if he or she has been convicted of committing a sexual offense against a child.



Completed petitions should he submitted to Lacey Paeglow, the school district’s designated election official, no later than 1 p.m. on Aug. 29.
