Why unofficial election results aren’t in Wednesday’s paper

Today is Wednesday, Nov 4, the first day after Election Day. But why aren’t the unofficial results in today’s paper?

The Grand County Clerk and Recorder’s Office posted three updates of unofficial election results to its official website Tuesday evening. Sky-Hi News updated its website with local election results as they came in, with the first set of results arriving around 8 p.m.

Because Sky-Hi News is required to submit all pages for printing by 4 p.m. Tuesday, the news team was not able to publish any unofficial election results in Wednesday’s edition of the paper.

Sky-Hi News will publish unofficial election results in the Friday, Nov. 6 print edition, but will not declare winners unless there is a clear lead.
