Colorado Parks and Wildlife is hosting a free clinic for women interested in learning the basics of fly fishing, archery and how to properly shoot a shotgun. The clinic takes place on Saturday, Aug. 19 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is for women only.

Parks and Wildlife designed the course specifically for novices ages 18 or older and no experience or equipment is required. All necessary supplies will be provided including water, lunch, snacks, insect repellent and sunscreen.

Participants can expect to learn how to fly fish for rainbow trout, shoot clays and 3D archery targets on a private ranch. Registration and a one day fishing license valid for the date of Aug. 19 is required.

Anyone interested should sign up early because spots are expected to be filled quickly. Register for the clinic at Registered.com/events/view/201291 or use the QR code below.

The clinic is provided by Parks and Wildlife’s Hunter Outreach Program that focuses on teaching skills, ethics and traditions of hunting to novice youth and women. However, this particular clinic is not a Hunter Education course, which you can find on Parks and Wildlife’s website.

Anyone with questions can contact Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s Northwest Education and Hunter Outreach Coordinator at 970-255-6181.
