Letter to the editor: ICE is doing their job

In his letter “What has changed in America?,” Ron Fischer asks what has changed since he started “peacefully demonstrating” in 1966. His answer, which I agree with, is Donald Trump.
ICE is responsible with enforcing our immigration laws. While past administrations, Democratic and Republican, have generally been allowed to fulfill their obligation to enforce immigration laws, not so with President Trump.
The Biden administration’s failure to properly secure our borders and allow millions of undocumented immigrants created the situation that we are currently dealing with. While I acknowledge that most of the migrants are not criminals, ICE is responsible with identifying and removing the “worst of the worst,” that’s their job.
Unfortunately, many politicians on the left have seen it in their interest to encourage obstruction of ICE, much of which is anything but peaceful.
