Letter to the editor: Lost in Granby post office

God help you if you need to deal with the Granby post office.

I got a key left in my mailbox that clearly said “54.” As a normal human being, I tried to fit in box 54. Didn’t fit. Waited till Monday, and was told by the nice gentleman behind the counter that “obviously” this was a “locker key” and not a “box key.”

I returned the next day and was told by his supervisor that “no one else had this problem, everyone else in Granby” could tell the difference between a locker key and a box key.

Well, the supervisor had a charming nose ring, had not been in Grand county post office for a month and didn’t hold public classes teaching locals to tell the difference between a box key and a locker key.

Only a moron would run a business with keyed access where a numbered key wont access one of two two numbered boxes/lockers on the same facility. Meanwhile the plentitude of scattered lockers/boxes at the facility are totally confusing without a clear map allowing users to quickly find a particular box or locker.

A truly competent manager would fix issues like this. Apparently we don’t have one. This is poor management at its worst.
