Granby Ranch residents gathered June 3 in the Slopeside Great Room on the second floor of the base lodge for the kickoff of the resort’s Wednesday night live music series. Drinks were served as the Taylor Scott Band prepared to perform.
At 4:30 p.m., Dave Huber, Granby Ranch’s general manager of development and construction, presented “Granby Ranch Elevated.” During the presentation, which outlined the resort’s development priorities for the next three to five years, Huber emphasized balancing resort operations with real estate development.
Real estate priorities include the Timber Ridge and Eisenhower Camp single-family developments, with a future development called Greyhawk also planned. Saddle Mountain and Meadows Townhomes are nearing completion, and a multifamily project across from the base lodge, Wrangler’s Crossing, is underway.
Huber also described plans to strengthen infrastructure across Granby Ranch to support the growing housing inventory. Proposed utility extensions would reach toward the top of East Mountain and toward the golf course, enabling future residential development.
The projects are intended to create redundant utility systems so providers can maintain service and avoid interruptions during repairs. Additional towers are planned to improve cellular and Wi-Fi coverage across the property.
On the operations side, Huber highlighted continued growth in the ski school. A new building adjacent to the Quick Draw lift will serve as ski patrol headquarters, allowing for faster response times. A lift maintenance bay also is planned near the top of the mountain. Because snowfall was below expectations last winter, Granby Ranch plans additional investment in snowmaking capacity and automation.
Huber declined to share specific cost estimates, construction timelines or expected project partners.
“Costs across the projects listed vary significantly on an annual basis,” he said. “Our goal is to balance investment between infrastructure, residential development and resort operations … Timelines are currently being refined based upon internal and external factors. Our goal is to continually invest in the future of Granby Ranch with an emphasis on the homeowner and guest experience.”
Granby Ranch has launched a “Granby Ranch Master Plan” website where Grand County residents can view information on upcoming developments and submit questions. Visit GranbyRanch.com/master-plan to learn more.
