Sunset Point boat ramp on Lake Granby was announced as opened for the for the season less than two weeks ago, increasing boating access on the Arapaho National Recreation Area. But in a June 25 Facebook post, the U.S. Forest Service says it will close again June 28 due to low water levels.
Due to drought and low water levels in Lake Granby, staff will continue to assess conditions at boat ramps and may close them if water levels are not high enough for safe use. All boats entering Lake Granby, Shadow Mountain Reservoir and Grand Lake must be inspected for aquatic nuisance species by on-site Colorado Parks and Wildlife staff prior to using boat ramps.
